This was the best all-around fishing trip I have had in eight times visiting Lake Baccarac. The numbers by far exceeded any other trip. On the first day, our boat caught 168 fish. On the second day, our boat landed 130 fish. The third day, we caught over 100 fish with four 10 lbers and on the fourth day, we caught over 100 fish again. All in all, there are plenty of 1 and 2 lbers mixed in with plenty of 3 to 5 lbers. The top water fishing is excellent for the fish in the 5 to 8 lb. range and the big wild eyed shads caught all of the fish that were over 9 lbs. All boats in the group had comparable luck , with our guides rated about equal and the fishermen skill level in our group was equal as well. The only unpleasant time on the water was late afternoon rains which produced some very cold weather and it kept us from staying out late under the palapa in the evening. The food, as usual, was excellent. Manuel is a one-of-a-kind host and we will be going back soon.

From Steve Rudy one Baccarac Lodges good friends:::::
Fishing was nothing short of great! I brought a crappie counter with me to keep track of my daily catch and averaged well over a 100 fish a day. The biggest being 9lbs. Most were caught on senkos with a weighted hook. Though I kept a Red Eyed Shad rattle bait on and cast when I see bass busting up bait fish and caught an 8lber doing that. The scenery was great as usual and the wildlife viewing was an awesome added bonus. Can’t wait to go back.
Dec 27th departure out of Ft Worth With Mr Gil Wright…..looking for guys to fill up the seats

From Andy Fabbo and Jeff Howell:
Jeff Howell and I fished our favorite Big Bass Lake on the planet from the 3rd thru the 7th of December and once again Lake Baccarc Lodge did not disappoint. Our guide Manual (Mexico’s Best), had us on good bass at our very first spot and the action was hot & heavy for our entire trip. Jigs, scroungers and flukes were our go to baits and the super charged Lake Baccarac Bass were in an feeding mood. During several extended periods of both our morning & the afternoon sessions it was a bass on every cast with well over 400 hundred 2-4 lb bass coming to the boat. The last two days of this epic trip, the really big bass that this lake is known for began to feed. Jeff & I both landed several bass between 5 and 7 pounds along with 8, 9 and 10 pound trophies. I’d like to thank Terry Hollan, our guide Manual and the entire Staff for making this whole experience so memorable. Lake Baccarac is alive & well and we can’t wait to get back.
