The theme this year has been soft plastics rigged a variety of ways. We have seen plenty of bass coming on wacky, Texas rig, scroungers, and shakey head lately… but one thing is for certain, make sure to have a healthy range of soft plastics in watermelons, black variations, and purple.
Secondary bites have been coming on cranks, underspin, swimbait, traps, topwater and chatterbait, but plastics have been by far the best producers.
This first main wave of spawn is in motion, and we are seeing plenty of fish with bloody tails, belly rub sores, and full stomachs. We are seeing the majority of thhe bites in 10-15 in staging areas just off the banks. Be diligent with your bites, as many are very subtle

It’s that time of year and the fish are getting ready to spawn!
We are seeing fish daily with bloody tails, belly rub marks, and full of eggs.
We are seeing on average 30-50 bass a day and mostly in the 5-6lb range. The occasional big is making its presence known, but you have to capitalize on the big bites as the opportunities seem to be fewer at the moment.
Most fish are staged off the banks and points in 10-15 feet and the best bite has been plastics in watermelon variations and plum/red/purple colors. We have been rigging them wacky, texas, on scroungers, and swingheads. We have also caught fish on swimbaits, spinnerbait, underspin and on top, but the best bite has been plastics.

We are back and rocking already! It was a nice holiday break, but we were itching to get clients back on giants!
Numbers wise is still down from last years insanity, but clients are still seeing 20-50 a day in some cases with a few 10lb class fish caught this week.
The name of the game is still soft plastics fished a variety of ways as long as they’re being fished slow. Wacky on deep bank drops accounted for some of the biggest fish the last week including a nice 10-6 caught by longtime client Shane Ryal.
We’re hoping for an uptick in action over the next few weeks as the fish stage and start to get into spawning patterns.
