There has been continuous action over the last seven days with plenty of 4 to 7 lb. bass caught using 1 oz. jigs, with many boats catching up to 80 fish per day and top water producing fish over 10 lbs. late in the afternoon. Sixto continues to put his clients on the biggest fish and year after year shows why he is the best springtime guide we have.

The Baccarac Fish was BIG, STRONG and CRAZY!

I caught lucky 5 Big Fish (10, 10, 10.5, 11, 11 LB ) !!
That’s so unbelievable!!!

The best bait was Jig (1oz) with swimbait trailer (watermelon color).
Morning time (6-8am) was very good.

Sorry guys – I’ve been recovering from back surgery and haven’t been able to post for a while but here’s a recap of the month has offered everything. Five fish per day to recently 300 fish per day. Jeff Massey and the Bass Champ guys had some struggling days but eventually started fishing past dark to eleven and twelve and absolutely tore up the 7 lb. bass.
Narlin described it as as many as you wanted to catch.
Next was Wes Moffatt’s group and he described his fishing days with his father as great – found excellent top water holes using yellow magic in bone color. Wes also said Papachaw produced at certain spots as many fish as you wanted to catch, most of them being one and two lbs. But even within Wes’ group, there was disappointment and Neal Ford described it at the same time as humbling.
Most recently over the last three days, Shane and Jonathan Frazier reported blow-out results, catching 300 fish a day with big fish over 9 lbs. showing up on a regular basis. These fish are being caught at some of the key top water spots and also along the small creek channels in 14 to 16 feet of water.

Jeff Massey group, flying in private, just returned with a blow-out trip. First day and a half, offering Jeff Massey himself several 7 lbers. Four 8’s, three 9’s and one over 11. Others in his group doing comparably the same, with a few less numbers. A one-day cold front moved through and slowed it down but the fishing recovered quickly to what was described as phenomenal in the afternoon sessions, using black and blue senkos, junebug and tequila sunrise heavy bulk worms with heavy twisted tails that produced sixty to eighty fish between 7 and 12 lbs. per boat.
The fishing is tending only to get better and some of the locals are catching fish with Zara spooks and pearl colored swim baits.

Jeff Jett reported 141 bass for the day yesterday with swimbaits and spinnerbaits producing fish over 12lbs ….swimbaits thrown cross the steep drop offs and spinnerbaits being bounced on the bottom

Helosia Jett and his son landed 84 bass yesterday with 10.1 and 13.4 being the largest caught using watermelon weighted flukes

Enrique Ruiz fishing hard and not coming back in for lunch used topwater baits all day and reported the best of fishing in his life with 16 bass over 7 pounds caught and released

MAc Milliam sent the lodge a beautiful photo of the 12.9 lber he caught
