The Swimbait Universe group is here in force and stacking fish! Swimbaits of course, along with topwater doing some damage.

Burritos on flat, rocky points in 10-15ft are stacking bigs in the afternoons. In the mornings, we’re seeing tons of bigs up tight with bullshads and oversized spooks taking many fish over 9 including a couple of fish just shy of 11.

Everyone in this full house is putting up big numbers and big fish!

What does Travis do when he gets to the lake with 45 mins of daylight? Slays on topwater of course! 1 spot for 30 fish on topwater with an 8lb kicker to start the trip. He has been killing it this week! He’s been loading the boat with big fish and numbers daily Who doesn’t love bigs on topwater?!! Multiple 9+ on big spooks, wakebait, and jig with wacky on the cliffs for numbers.

Lynn and Mike off to a solid start despite the rain shortened day! The lake is kicking out big numbers of 6 and 7lb bass right now with plenty of grandes mixed in! Lynn and Mike are on the board with a few 9’s and one over 10 so far.

Big bites on big baits with the bacca burrito swimbait has been the deal. Make sure you pick out a quality swimbait rod from our shop and some 20+ fluorocarbon to make fighting fish on long casts that much easier!

Bart Joined us for the week as we were getting the lodge set up for the season and boy did he make the right call!

He caught so many 7 and 8 lb fish that he lost count daily.  He was getting into just under 100 fish a day with 90% being over 5 lbs.  He also stuck 12 fish over 9lbs and an estimated 200+ over 7lbs.

He mentioned that if you wanted to pad numbers, wacky and cranks were the go to.  But, for big fish, it was all about jigs and swimbaits on the bottom.

Just an insane start to the season in what we only can hope will be even better!
