Hurricane Pamela is just south of us, but we are getting some weather due to proximity. We saw some heavy rain and winds the last couple of days, but that didn’t stop our clients from getting out and getting after it. Sylvano is getting hot, and Manuel is right behind him. We’ve seen a couple of 10lb fish as well as a few 9lbs, but the numbers aren’t quite up to par with last fall.
We believe once the nights cool off a bit, the topwater and trap bite will pop off in the mornings and shift to a jig bite in the later half of the day. Due to the lake level being incredibly low last season, it gave the shoreline weeds a chance to spread, and as the water level rose, those weeds became submerged creating a much different environment than we are used to.
As always, our guides will adapt and continue to put clients on giants!

We’ve got our first full house of the season starting on the 8th and the weather is balmy. It’s slowed the fishing, but there’s still great fish being caught. Senko Texas rigged has been the best bet for numbers and size, with a couple of 10lbs in the boat with Alonso and Bladis.
Sixto, sylvano and Juan all have fish over 9lbs and we are seeing some decent 6 to 8lb fish being taken, but not in the numbers we normally see. We need a few cool nights to jump into fall patterns, but it won’t stop us from grinding.
There’s been a short topwater window that’s produced some at first light, with poppers and burning bullshads being the ticket.
Lots of fishing to come!

Time Of Day:Afternoon
It’s that time of year again! The lodge is open, updated, and ready for business ?
The first group flew in yesterday afternoon and wasted no time getting after it. The fish are up shallow in the flooded brush and eating. I’m just a few hours, boats were averaging 20-30 fish with some good ones mixed in including our first 10lb+ of the season. Senko Texas style has been the hot bite, with clients picking up fish on top and mag flukes as well.
We are excited to see everyone again and get back to doing what we love! Here’s to another great season at “the best in bass”!

Rattle traps and spinnerbaits
Hottest Colors:chrome, white
Time Of Day:all day
The best bite over the last 10 days by far has been the rattle trap bite. The fish are stacked up and suspended during the day and can be caught in numbers. Lots and Lots of 4-7 lb fish right now with a few bigs mixed in. For sure a fun bite.
In the mornings we are still seeing a decent spinnerbait bite in the trees as well as bigger fish hanging on the drops outside of the trees with big mid range squarebills. Every here and there we are hearing about a worm bite and chatterbait, but the difference maker is the trap.
boats are reporting 40-100 a day and almost all quality fish.
