Name:Terry Hollan
Email: terry.hollan@sbcglobal.net
10 inch worms, 8 inch lizards, 1 1/2 oz spinner baits, strike king DX 8 and DX 10, shad colored crankbaits, topwater pop-rs, storm wild eye pearl swimbaits
Hottest Colors:shad, pearl
Time Of Day:all day
As predicted, we are seeing heavy action on big crankbaits, with the big DX10 in shad color offering the best results. Big Al from Philadelphia cranked a couple over 12 lbs. Shane Ryal and his Son Travis also got 5 over 10 on the Big DX10.
We are seeing good numbers for most of the boats and many other trophies could be reported in the coming days.
This happens every year and this year is no exception, with the fish moving out on the long points and submerged islands, able to be caught in 20 feet of water using big crankbaits and slow rolling spinnerbaits.
We have about 6 more weeks before the heavy rains so don’t miss out and come see!
ALMOST TIME!

storm 6″ swim baits (in pearl, chartreuse, bleeding shad), watermelon lizards, crankbaits DX 8 and DX 10 in shad and mullet color, 1 oz silver rattletraps, Bico 1/2 oz jigs in black blue
Hottest Colors:pearl, chartreuse, watermelon, bleeding shad, shad, mullet, silver, black/blue
Time Of Day:all day
The past week has produced many nice 6 to 9 bass and only 6 bass over 10. The previous weeks, the 10 plus pounders have been more plentiful but it is just a matter of time until the trophies will caught on crankbaits. Time to start bringing your strike king DX 8 and DX 10 crankbaits. In the past 3 days, Tom Fenton caught a phenomenal number of 7 pound bass on swimbaits. The total number of 7 pounders being caught by Tom was 56 (that was in one day).
All you guys know what May is going to be like: Trophy Time! Don’t miss it!

Over and over we hear the following at Lake Baccarac Lodge: “The best guides in Mexico.” We are very proud and happy to hear that.
The last week plenty of monster bass have been found by guides Poncho and Sixto, including a couple of nice 12 lbers along with several 11s, 10s, and 9s. The weather is warming up and the action is around 40 fish a day per boat, using mostly swimbaits and jigs. The crankbait action is picking up but no topwater has been found.
April 17, we have 2 seats on a King Air out of Fort Worth.
May 5 we have 4 discounted seats out of Fort Worth

Our good friend Chad Meenan and The President of the Lake Baccarac fan club Bill Quattucci arrived 7 days ago with a group of 20 from New England, and these guys a ripped up the trophy bass at Lake Baccarac with 19 of the 20 catching their personal bests, and that is just part of the story.
The personal results are great but the summary is just as amazing with a total of 15 bass over 10 pounds being recorded from the group and over 150 over 8 pounds recorded.
Super Guide Poncho and the old favorite Sixto have been responsible for the best results. From Bill Q’s mouth “Lake Baccarac Lodge has the best guides in Mexico.. Period! Do not be fooled by statements from any other outfitters.”
The fish are currently in a little transition stage with the extreme heat. Bigger fish are moving to the humps and the long humps. Crankbait action is just about to get “cranked up.”
Swimbait action from the New England guys was incredible. Overall numbers are slower from the previous week, but average catch size has increased.
From Chad Meenan: “Incredible from all aspects of the trip. These Guides are the best.”

UNSEASONABLY HOT TEMPS

1/2 oz and 1 oz black/blue Bico Jigs, 1 1/2 oz white spinnerbaits, white flukes, pearl flukes, watermelon flukes, 5 inch pearl swimbaits, watermelon lizards, scroungers w/ heads tipped with watermelon flukes and swimming worms, DX 8 crankbaits
Hottest Colors:black/blue, pearl, watermelon, white
Time Of Day:all day
Unseasonably hot weather has pressured the fishing, and the numbers per day have been down the last 2 days as the bigger fish now are suspending and pulling off in deeper water. The results of this will be a great crankbait bite soon, however. Several 8 pound bass were caught using 1/2 oz jigs (mostly black and blue color). Action up the river is decent but we are not finding any bigger fish in that area this week.
President of Lake Baccarac Fan Club “Mr Bill Q” is on the water this week with group of 20. They will stir things up and I predict they will find the patterns.
