The boys from Pollard Aircraft arrived and Mike Swartz took the first day honors – his boat landed an 11 plus lb. bass. The second day out, Tim Pollard found their honey hole and in one stretch, caught 22 bass on 23 casts between 7 and 9 lbs. along with a 10 lb. kicker. On the third day of fishing, Mike rallied from behind and caught a beautiful 11 plus lb. bass, countless numbers of other quality fish. The lake is currently around 30% capacity and we are starting to get evening rains and the big fish have shown back up at Baccarac.
06/16/2011
Tad Phelps, in three days of fishing, caught 117 fish over 7 lbs. and two fish over 12 lbs. He threw nothing but deep diving DB 22 crank baits and only rested every once in a while and threw a plastic.

WoW, the afternoon cloud cover is producing excellent results for the Japenese anglers currently at the Lodge. 11.11 caught on topwater and countless 7 to 9 bass caught on big crankbaits. …It is very good right now!!!!

We have started getting a few evening rains. The fishing in June is even more outstanding than fishing in May. Lake Baccarac is currently at 30% capacity. The fishing are concentrated in creek channels and the long points. I personally caught my best fish of the year, a 12.1, last week using a DD 22, fishing light line to get the few extra feet of depth. Our current group at the lodge from Japan is reporting 40 to 60 fish per session per boat and are amazed at the number of 4 to 9 1/2 lb. bass. Don’t miss out on this great fishing. Come see us! We do have seats available on a couple of planes if that interests you.

Fishing continues to be outstanding.
Gil Wright and Mike Watson’s group arriving in Mike Seikel’s airplane, had a record-breaking trip. Gil Wright, at one point, caught 22 over seven lbs.
in one hour, with fish up to 9.6 lbs. Gil commented that this was the best action he had ever seen on the lake. Mike Watson and his fishing partner caught 545 fish in their four days of fishing, with a 10.6 and a 10.5 being the two largest and 77 over 8 lbs. Nineteen of those fish were over 9 lbs. But what tells the story is that on Friday, May 12th, their 10 biggest fish weighed 96 lbs. Mike Seikel and his group caught fish up to 11 lbs. and reported by far the best fishing trip they have had to Baccarac or any other lake, for that matter.

The fishing is nothing short of phenomenal and we have planes flying the rest of this month and can book more planes if needed, or you are always welcome to come in commercial air. On certain dates, we have $995 specials with groups of four or more.

The first part of April started off with a bang and it has improved every day. Not only the swim bait bite, but the top water bite as well. Just received an e-mail from Marty Cooper who caught over 300 fish, 140 on topwater, a 10.5, a 9.3. and a 9.1, twenty-five over 8 lbs. and forty over 6 lbs. He ended his report by saying that in the last eleven years he has
fishing all of the Mexican lakes and none compare to Lake Baccarac.
James Meeks, who just fishing two weeks ago at Lake Baccarac, flew back to Chicago, gathered up a group and headed back to the lake yesterday. He has been fishing Mexican lakes for years and claims none compare to Lake Baccarac.
We had a lodge full of Japanese customers, which the majority only fished top water. All reported it was the best fishing experience they have ever had and got photos and videos to prove it.

April started off with a bang. Bob Schriewer and Jerry Ballard, veteran Mexico bass anglers, just returned, marking this trip as their best trip yet to Mexico. Baccarac is right where we thought it would be for this time of year – excellent shape. The big fish for Bob was 11.15, along with a couple of additional fish over 10 lbs. caught. The overall quality, according to Jerry Ballard, was the best he has ever seen at any lake in Mexico.
Topwater bite, one session, produced multiple 9 lb. bass using Spittin Image. The swim bait bite, in 14 to 22 feet of water, was as good as it was the week before. Seems like the bite is best on the long points and submerged islands.

With the lodge currently being full, we are getting varied results from the different boats. Many noteworthy reports: Kelly Dunn caught a 9.10 and a 9.14 on top water. Roger Hatch caught a 10.15 on a wacky style Senko and a 9.14 on a 3 1/2 inch Pop’R. Top water overall has been excellent in the mornings. The Earl Meadows group recently fished 3 1/2 days with their big fish only being a 9.12 but had outstanding numbers of 5 to 8 lb. bass. At times, fishing could not have been better. A note, the lake is dropping fast and as the last several years’ reports have indicated, the last week in March is going to be an explosion of giant bass. As many of you know, May has always been an outstanding month and we look for this May to be even better than normal. We have secured airplanes for travel and we have open seats on others. Come see us at Lake Baccarac Lodge!
