This trip was better than expected. The fishing, while a little off from recent weeks, was fantastic, 70-90 fish per day per boat.Lots of good 3-6 lbs fish. A lot of fun!!! Aside from fishing, Tony did a great job with the meals, the girls were extremely pleasant and provided outstanding service. Everyone at the lodge did a fantastic job!! We will be back this year. Thanks for a GREAT time!!!!!!

Another great trip to Lake Baccarac! Your staff and service continue to amaze me. The fishing was great all three days. Avg 70-90 fish a boat per day. Biggest was 8 lbs 12 oz caught by Eric Corbin, caught over 50 fish in 3 days that we weighed at over 5 Lbs each. Topwater pop r's in the morning until about 9:30, senkos and flukes mid morning, big lizards mid day, topwater zara spooks in late p.m. I will be planning my 3rd trip back for this nov/dec. Thanks! David Cloud

It's obvious over the last few days that the bigger fish, meaning 11 to 13 lb. fish, are becoming fewer and fewer but there are more solid quality fish right now than we have seen. Most boats are reporting between 80 and 100 fish a day, some more and some less. Lucy-Garcia Mabe caught a 10.0 lb. while fishing a jerkbait. Janie McGuire caught two 7 lb. fish using PopRs. Obvously, there is great topwater action. Laura Herricks caught nice 8 lb. fish using Senkos. There are no distinct patterns. Many fish are being caught deep and many fish are being caught in the shallows.

Big baits are catching big fish. If you are coming to the lodge over the next few days, 8-inch Senkos, 8-inch flukes or Sluggos and 10-inch worms are a must. Color has not been that important but size has, according to Rene and Sixto. Our guide Eddie says if you want to catch a 5 lb. fish, throw a 6-inch Senko. If you want to catch a 7 lb. plus bass, throw an 8-inch Senko or fluke or 10-inch worm. Mike Waterman, using his custom hand-poured 10-inch worm, proved the big bait theory right by catching two fish over 10 lbs. and one over 11 lbs. in one afternoon session using the bigger baits. One oz. spinnerbaits and 1 oz. rattletraps are also working good for the bigger fish. All of the local guides working for the lodge believe that the big bass bite will only get better and better and they believe May and June will be the time to be on the lake if you want the best catch at catching one of the 14 lb. plus bass.

The fishing has been very good the last 10 days with several big fish reported from all groups. Carl Douglas catching 13.5 , 11.2 and 10.5 . LBL guide Pedro gets top honors for finding some of the best structure on the lake. Pedro and his fishermen has been the top producers the last 7 days. We are finding fish on the long points and deep structure and the cooler mornings are still attracting some topwater action.
