Fishing was a little slow at times..Caught most fish on swim baits and black lizards. Biggest fish around 6.5 lbs catching approx 50 fish a day. Most fish were in 10-15 feet of water with best fishing coming in the morning prior to 10am. Most of the guys at the camp had similar results as us..with some bigger fish being caught up to 10lbs 2oz

Spectacular!

We thought fishing couldn't get any better, but it has. Danny Westfall from Phoenix, Arizona called and started his report by saying, "There is no way the fishing can get any better. It was a dream trip. Topwater in the morning and evening, and every other presentation working during the day." Danny's group caught fish up to 12 lbs., crankbaits and spinnerbaits. Jason Loris revisited the lodge this year and has already caught a 13 even, a 12.12 and an 11.14. Tim Schumacher caught an 11.14. The fishing remains productive all over the lake. Lake Baccarac guides Sixto, Eddie, Juan, Martin and Teddy are doing an incredible job. The lodge will be staying open until July 4th. If you are already coming down to see us, call for a fishing report and if you are thinking of coming, don't miss the opportunity to be part of this great bass action.

Fantastic! We were part of a group of four. We all caught over 100 fish per boat. On the last day we caught over 150 fish. During the last 15 minutes of our last day we caught 25 to 30 fish between 3.5 to 6.5 pounds. We used Fat Free Shad, Soft plastics (watermelon, tequila, black & blue) both lizzards and worms, swim baits mostly 5" and 1 oz. rattle traps(Chrome with blue or black). Rooms were very nice, the food was excellent and the service great. As nice as all this was, the highlight of the trip was being guided by Rene Salazar. Not only does he know the lake and how to catch and find the fish, but he is a natural teacher. He very much enjoys his work and has an unlimited source of energy. It is very contagious, when we were tired of fighting these monster fish he got us going again and again. We had so many fish that our hands hurt(hurt so good). The other guides at the lake were very friendly and capable and led us all to many fish. This is definetly worth a repeat trip. We will return not later than a year from now, probably 2-3 times a year if we can get away.

Fishing remains very strong, with too many 10 lb. fish to list! Several reports of 13's, many photos of 10 lb. fish. Early morning topwater produced as many as 50 fish per boat. Some boats are doing very well on the shallow flats, using worms and lizards, watermelon red, junebug and a few on watermelon seed. Bill Dance fat-free shad thrown at the end of the flats on the points and baby bass and solid white produced fish over 8 lbs. and up to 13. Russ has been fishing with swimbaits, 4, 5 and 6 inches and has also had good luck on the submerged humps and the islands. Conservatively, all boats have been catching in excess of 80 fish a day, with many boats catching over 150 of all sizes.
