Fishing was great. Big rains + big baits = big fish. Everytime the big clouds move in, we move to flat structure and almost like clockwork, the big swimbaits will produce a fish over 10 lbs. This pattern worked all three days. The numbers of quality 7 and 8 lb. fish in this lake cannot be matched. Either fishing spinnerbaits on the bottom or using deep-diving crankbaits, quality bass were plentiful. The electronics on the boat would indicate fish on the islands but we never had much luck catching them. We caught all of our fish in 15 feet or less of water at the far north end of the lake. It was the best fishing trip I have had in 20 years going to Mexico

Fantastic Results!

We have had fantastic results for both numbers and size over the last ten days. The big fish are mixed in with the smaller fish and it's hard to tell when you will catch the big ones. George Hudgins of Nacogdoches, TX, caught an 11.5 a 10.14 and a 10.2. Justin Herrick caught a 10.12. Guide Sixto Figeroa, while fishing with Jeff Darden, himself caught a 14.2. Greg Darden caught a 10.2. Shane Ryal landed a 13.2 and a 10.4. That's just to name a few of the anglers who have caught big fish. The best pattern has been fishing the Rancho Padre area using 5 inch swimbaits and deep-diving crankbaits.

Great trip. Great fishing. Caught lots of 4 to 6 lb. fish with several in the 7 lb. range. Biggest fish in our group was 9 lb. 10 oz. caught on a 6" swimbait. Two of us caught approximately 300 fish (in the boat!) over four days of fishing. Lodge staff, food and accommodations were great as always. It's pretty hot down there in May, but worth it!

Terry, Great trip and it will never be forgotten. Numbers of big bass in this lake is like no other. We caught fish using everything in the tackle box and caught them all over the lake. Russ and Rene are excellent and the Lodge, service is rated 5 star.

We had a blast! In fact, I've already booked my trip for next year in May. There were four of us and we each caught over 100 fish a day. I personally caught three 8 lb. fish in one afternoon, and as a group, we caught an 11.4, two 10 lb. fish, two 9 lb. fish and four 8 lb. fish over the course of four days of fishing. My guide was Jesus.
