Over the last couple of days, fishing has been very inconsistent. The largest percent of fish are holding tight to cover and this cover can only be fished in a few open pockets. There has been some topwater bite but the fish seem to be satisfied in ambushing their prey behind the cover that is new to them. The humps that are in 25 feet of water are producing the better fishing and fish can be caught using carolina rig 10 inch magnum watermelon worms. Also one ounce rattletraps bouncing on the bottom of the exposed humps also works. Make sure to fish with premium clear line as the fish are becoming very finicky.

Fishing the clean rock walls in structure 14 ft deep using a 9" Watermelon Lizzard Jonny Perkin caught a 14.0 pound Bass. Also 4" Pop'r's late afternoon worked very well. It is very hard to find open banks this season because of the high water. It seems that most fish can be caught in 10 to 20 ft of water.

Amazing!

I have always looked at Bass in Mexico as something I might catch around 10lbs. but that has all changed. I have been fishing in Mexico for bass for 25 years and have never witnessed anything quite like whats going on right now at Lake Baccarac. Bass fishing can no longer be done by the same lures, line, rods as we have been using before now. Now its 65lb braided line, stronger hooks, and 7ft rods and if you dont you will be extremely disapointed like I was last week at Lake Baccarac. The fishing was good, with numbers any where between 30 and 70 a day for my boat and lots of 5 to 6lb bass. I believe my partner and I had at least 6 bass on that were any where between 10lbs and 20+lbs and I am not kidding about the 20+ fish there is no doubt that this size exists in this lake. Before we put on braided line we had 2 big bass break us off on our first day using 25lb new big game line (berkley). Flipping and pitching 8in lizards straight down in the trees 10 to 20ft was the best bite for numbers. Cranking in the cuts and flukes in the few openings that we could find along the shoreline were also fun. Dont pass up on this bite its fun.

With more rain and the lake still in a state of shock fishing was little slower today. Most of the bigger fish today came from 30ft of water. No shallow fish. It seems that the fish are moving around very much today because of all the new cover and water. The biggest fish today was a 9.5 lbs
